Slovene Kristjan Čeh Becomes the European Champion in Discus Throwing

Slovene Kristjan Čeh has become the champion of Europe in discus throwing among juniors (under the age of 23 years old). At the competitions in Sweden, following the results of six episodes, he set a new national record of 63.82 metres. In the struggle for gold, he beat German Clemens Prüfer, who showed the result of 62.15 metres.

The achievement of Kristjan Čeh is the best result of the season in the category of up to 23 years. The absolute national record of 64.79 metres set in 1999 belongs to Igor Primc.

Slovene Agata Zupin was also close to winning a medal, but in the end, the country’s record holder in the 400-metre hurdling ranked fifth. With a score of 56.97 seconds, she fell behind the third prize winner by 0.60 seconds.
