Participants of a three-day meeting of ministers and state secretaries from China and Central and Eastern Europe, including State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovenia, Eva Štravs Podlogar, distinguished a high economic attractiveness of the Chinese tourism market for Central Europe, including Slovenia.
The importance of the Chinese market and the implementation of cooperation between countries to create a competitive and attractive tourism offer for Chinese tourists was noted by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia and Croatia. Together with Croatia, the country achieved excellent results on the basis of a joint advertising campaign, as reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia.
“We will continue to improve it (advertising campaign) thanks to the support given to the Slovenian Tourism Council (STO) and the Croatian National Tourism Council (HTZ) under the initiative of the European Commission,” the Ministry informs.
From October 2018 to March 2019, 204 thousand euros will be allocated as part of a special programme to promote the interests of European companies in the Chinese market. The Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) will cover half of the costs for this project.
The “16 + 1 Initiative” also promotes economic cooperation between China and 16 European countries, including Slovenia.
