Slovenia and Croatia Implement a Joint Project in Healthcare, Tourism and Education

Within the framework of the INTERREG V-A Slovenija – Hrvaška cross-border cooperation program, Slovenia and Croatia are implementing the +Health project worth almost 870 thousand euros. It brings together 8 Slovenian and Croatian partners in healthcare, tourism and education. From the Croatian side, the partners include the Medical Tourism Cluster of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County as the leading partner, the School of Public Healthcare of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Healthcare Centre of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka. From the Slovenian side, the project participants are the University of Maribor, the Health Protection Centre of Ilirska Bistrica, the Ljutomer Health Protection Centre, the Novo Mesto Clinic. The associated partners of the +Health project are the Ministry of Health of Croatia, the Ministry of Health of Slovenia, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the Det Norske Veritas Adriatica organisation.

One of the most important results of the project is the proposal and testing of new cross-border procedures in order to ensure timely medical care. The key achievements of the project are the supply of medical equipment, joint training courses in healthcare and the development of a specialized mobile application.
