Statistics Service: Slovenes Are Most Often Born on the 1st of January

According to the Statistics Service, the majority of Slovenes (7,552 persons out of almost 2.1 million people) celebrate their birthdays on the 1st of January. Exactly this remarkable date is listed as a date of birthday in their official documents. Meanwhile, the least of all Slovenes (4,731 people) celebrate their birthdays on the 31st of December (excluding the 29th of February).

Thus, the ratio between persons born on the 1st of January and those born on the 31st of December is 1.6 : 1. The second place in the birth rate (6,375 people) belongs to the 1st of October, according to the Statistics Service.

The high birth rate, according to experts, is also recorded in the last third of September. During this period, 6,100 to 6,200 persons celebrate their birthdays.
