On 27-28 November 2018, students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Architecture of the University of Maribor had a 2-day professional tour to Obersalzberg and Munich. The trip was organised by the Student Council of the Faculty and the Department of Rapid Construction.
On the first day of the tour, the students visited the Dokumentation construction site in Obersalzberg, at which the Recent History Archive is being built. The object is built both above the ground and under the ground, which is of particular interest from both the architectural and the engineering points of view.
In Munich, students visited the construction site of the Großlappen Central Aeration Station, which will be commissioned in March 2019. In addition to wastewater treatment, the station will also be used to produce energy based on biogas from organic waste.
The students also visited the BMW Welt Exhibition Centre, where the latest BMW cars and motorcycles are presented, climbed the 200-metre-high Olympic Tower, which offers a beautiful view of the city, and had an informal communication at the beautiful Christmas Market on the Marienplatz Square.
On the second day of the tour, the students visited the BIM World Congress of Innovative IT and Construction Technologies with the participation of more than 120 exhibitors, including the well-known Maribor design company Lineal, and, full of new impressions, visited the Allianz Arena Stadium, where the local Bavaria Football Club performs.
