Students from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana Get Acquainted with Advanced Technologies in Tourism during a Professional Tour

On Thursday, 7 March 2019, students from the Master’s degree programmes visited Arctur d.o.o. (Nova Gorica) within the Management of Tourism Destinations subject.

They were warmly welcomed by Tomi Ilijaš, the Director and Founder of the Company, and Nejc Bat, the Head of the Department for High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud Computing.

During the visit, the students got acquainted with the Turizem 4.0 project, the goal of which is to ensure efficient, safe and environmentally friendly travelling using the most advanced technologies – processing of bulk data sets, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

After the introductory presentation, the Ambassador of Montenegro in Slovenia, Dr. Vujica Lazović, spoke to the students. Together with him, the students examined the company’s supercomputer, one of the largest private supercomputers in Central and Eastern Europe.
