Students from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Maribor Winn the Rafting Tournament

The Student Council of the University of Maribor held a traditional rafting tournament on Friday, 30 June, for all sports and active outdoor recreation lovers. For the third year in a row, the team Rit:o-Piki (Faculty of Medicine) wins the competition.

The tournament was the last all-university event before the summer holidays. The competition took place on the Drava River within the area from the harbour berth to Venice at the Dravska vila boat.

This year, Igor Tičar, the rector of the University of Maribor, has joined more than 200 participants of the tournament and proved himself as an excellent paddler being a member of the Student Council team.

The three prize-winners among 24 teams were:

First place: Rit:o-Piki Vol. 4.20 (Faculty of Medicine), time: 2:01.08.

Second place: FKK prvaki (Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology), time: 2:04.80.

Third place: Pivoljubi (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Philosophy), time: 2:14.02.

Teams-winners received memorable cups, medals and valuable prizes. In addition, the third prize takers will be able to ride with PohorJet, the team that finished second will visit the Enigmarium room, and the winners of the Drava Race will try their hand at the similar tournament on the Soča River.
