Students from the University of Maribor Study the Work of Transport System in Valencia During a Professional Tour to Spain

During the last week of March 2019, students of the Bachelor’s degree programme “Transport Engineering” from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Architecture of the University of Maribor made a professional tour to Valencia to familiarize themselves with the work of local transport.

As part of the trip, students visited the historic centre of the city, the park along the Turi riverbed, rode bicycles, inspected the local infrastructure, visited the City of Science and Art (designed by architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela), and also visited the local port – one of the largest in the Mediterranean region with an annual turnover of 55 million tons and over 3 million twenty-foot containers. For comparison – Slovenian Port of Luka Koper has an indicator of 550 thousand twenty-foot containers.
