Students from the Velenje College Make a Professional Tour to Ljubljana
First-year students of the Hospitality and Tourism study programme from the Velenje Higher Vocational College made a professional tour to Ljubljana. The tour took place as part of the Economics of Tourism and Tourism Geography and Cultural Heritage subjects.
During the tour, students took part in the interactive brainstorming sessions in thematically equipped quest rooms, which represent one of the fastest growing global trends in tourism. Solving challenging puzzles, students spent time with interest learning to work in a team.
Then the participants of the tour visited the Alpe-Adria Trade Fair, in which more than 300 exhibitors from 15 countries were represented. During the fair, students also got acquainted with the offers of tourism products of 40 competitive teams within the More Knowledge for Tourism Development Festival (in Slovene: Več znanja za več turizma). Besides, the students also presented a tourism product – Nežin Backpack from Oljke Mount (in Slovene: Nežin rukzak z Gore Oljke). This is a compact eco-backpack with the necessary stock of products, which is an integral part of equipment for travellers and climbers.
The presentation of the students aroused great interest in the exhibition visitors. The team included Monika Melanšek, Damjana Sladič, Jure Mihelak, Jan Napotnik and Gal Zabukovnik. Mentors of the project were Antonija Jakop and Martina Omladič.
