Students of Slovenian Universities Are Invited to Participate in the Ninth Model ASEM Conference
Students of Slovenian universities are invited to participate in the Ninth Model ASEM Conference – a youth conference, which is held as a simulation of a meeting of ministers for foreign affairs of Asia and Europe. The conference with the participation of students from 51 countries of the world is held with the aim of improving diplomatic skills, developing the art of negotiation, gaining experience in addressing the audience.
The event will take place in Madrid on 11–16 December 2019 in parallel with the 14th ASEM[*] meeting of ministers for foreign affairs.
Applications for participation are accepted until Monday, 12 August 2019, at the following.
Participation criteria: citizenship of one of the ASEM countries; age from 18 to 30 years; student status of any study programme of any level; high level of proficiency in English; interest in international politics and cooperation in Asia and Europe.
Selection criteria: originality of the motivational letter; quality of arguments and presentations; experience of participation in such events.

ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) – the Asia-Europe Forum is an international organisation that brings together countries from East Asia and Europe. ASEM includes 51 states, which account for 2/3 of the world trade and about 60% of the world gross domestic product, and 2 international regional organisations. The countries members of the organisation include Austria, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. The summits held by the organisation are devoted to discussing issues related to international relations, economics, finance, environment, and education.
