Students of the Transport Engineering Study Programme from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Architecture of the University of Maribor Take a Tour to Zagreb and Vransko

On Thursday, 29 November 2018, a professional tour took place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Architecture of the University of Maribor organised by the Department of Transportation Technologies and Transport Safety.

The tour consisted of two parts: the first part included a professional excursion to the high-tech Rimac Company (Zagreb, Croatia) engaged in the development of advanced information technologies in motor vehicles that provide autonomous driving, vehicle safety, and operation of electric vehicles. The company is a leading developer of electric drive elements (production of battery assemblies, high-tech components, special electric vehicles and electric bikes, etc.)

The second part of the professional tour included a visit to the DARS Control Centre (a company operating the network of motorways and highways of Slovenia) in Vransko, the AC Vransko Base and the Vransko fire station. The students familiarised themselves with the work of the Traffic Control and Management Centre, as well as with the peculiarities of the operation of road infrastructure facilities and responding to possible emergencies in the country’s highway network.

The tour was organised and led by Master Stanko Laković in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Matjaž Šraml and Associate Professor Dr. Anita Praprotnik Brdnik.
