Students of the University of Primorska Are Among the Top Five at the Third European Universiade

Starting from 13 July, the Croatian cities of Zagreb and Rijeka have been hosting the Third European Universiade. This is the largest academic sports event of the Old World, as in the current year, 5,700 athletes and accompanying personnel from 41 countries and 394 universities and higher education institutions have attended the Universiade. The total number of 185 students play under the flag of Slovenia. Among them, there are 36 students from the University of Primorska, who competed in five sports disciplines: basketball, 3 on 3 basketball, swimming, water polo, and handball.

For the students of the University of Primorska, the competitions are already finished. They have achieved excellent results since the water polo and handball players can be proud of getting into the top five at the Third European Universiade 2016.

The following students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies took part in the competitions in Zagreb and Rijeka: Lea Krajnc, Kristina Petrinja, Tina Čeh and Kaja Teraž (handball), Jakob Majerič, David Vac and Miloš Veljkovič (basketball), and Marko Prcać (water polo).
