The Students of the University of Promorska Will Organize New Year’s Events for Children

On 19, 20 and 21 December 2016 , as part of the “Correctional Pedagogy” academic subject, the students of the Master’s study program “Primary Education” from the Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska and of the “Italian Language Studies”, “Geography” and “History” academic programs from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska will organize the Christmas and New Year’s events for children and adolescents from the ‘Elvira Vatovec Strunjan’ and ‘Janeza Levca Ljubljana’ training centres as well as from the Koper Basic School (OŠ Koper) and the PetKa Day Centre. The festivities will be held in the Youth Centre of Koper (Center mladih Koper – in Slovenian).

On 20 December, the students will conduct workshops with a group of children from the Elvira Vatovec Strunjan Training Centre in the Dimnice cave (the Karst region). The members of the Dimnice Koper Association of Cavers have provided the children with this unique opportunity. Mitja Maružin, a caver and organizer of the training programs in pedagogy and andragogy at the Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska, took the most active part in this event.
