The Biology Research Camp Is Launched in Izola

The Biology Research Camp was launched in Izola on 3 July 2016. The UP FAMNIT Department of Biodiversity and the Slovenian Technical Culture Association “Zotks” jointly organized the camp. Until Friday, the camp participants (aged from 14 to 18 years) will get acquainted with a diversity of local flora and fauna in the Mediterranean region on the Slovenian Istra.

The children will work with the surface of soil and sea as well as with their depths. Besides, they will learn how to work in the areas of outstanding natural beauty. Then they will literally test their conclusions and findings under a microscope since the camp will also have workshops in the modern laboratories of the “Livade” University Campus (Univerzitetnega kampusa Livade).

The workshops are run by assistants, UP FAMNIT teachers, and specially invited engineers-biologists. The students of the “Biodiversity” UP FAMNIT study program are also in close cooperation with the young natural scientists.
