The Confucius Institute Workshop Inspired Visitors of the Primorska Exhibition
The Confucius Institute in Koper participated in the Primorska exhibition (Bonifik’s Arena, Koper) on 26–29 May 2016, where its employees presented their activity to the wide audience. They prepared a number of workshops and a series of documentary films describing various aspects of the rich Chinese culture for the visitors of this exhibition. The exhibition was attended by representatives of all generations. Their feedbacks were very positive.
The workshops involved the art of calligraphy, craft of making leaflets and lanterns as well as painting masks of the Beijing Opera. The visitors were considerably interested in the calligraphy section where, besides writing various symbols, they could also learn some elements of the Chinese language (for example, counting to ten).
Children were delighted with paining masks because they could demonstrate their ingenuity by combining various colours.
The exhibition lasted for four days, during which the academic staff of the Confucius Institute could present its activity to everyone and acquaint visitors with the specific features of the Chinese culture. They also announced about launching the Summer School for Chinese Language and Culture, which would be held in the Debeli Rtič settlement from Sunday, 26 June to Saturday, 6 July 2016.
