The Direct Railway Connection Between Ljubljana and Trieste Is Resumed

From Sunday, 9 September 2018, the direct railway service between Ljubljana and Trieste resumes. Trains will go twice a day with stops in Postojna, Pivka, Sežana and Divača. Each train will accommodate almost 300 passengers and have a special car for bicycles.

This was reported by the Slovenske Železnice manager assistant Miloš Rovšnik. According to him, the train will simplify travelling from Slovenia to the Italian region of Friuli – Venezia Giulia.

The railway service will be resumed with the support of the European Crossmoby Mobility Project on the initiative of the Friuli – Venezia Giulia province, and under a contract between the Slovenske Železnice Company and the Italian railway company Trenitalia.

The cost of tickets has also been agreed with the Italian party. A passenger will pay 8 EUR for a trip from Ljubljana to Trieste, 2 EUR from Sežana to Trieste, and 11.60 EUR from Ljubljana to Ronki Airport.
