Slovenian partners of the Drava cycling route project have conducted a series of works this year. They have installed 600 new signs, put into operation a new 30-km section between Maribor and Ptuj, and also accomplished the improvement of several other sites.
In 2018, the Department of Infrastructure has allocated approximately 1.2 million euros for the full range of activities. The funds were spent on the preparation of investment and project documentation, the purchase of land plots and construction works. As stated in the Department, to perform similar works in 2019, it is planned to allocate over 1.6 million euros.
For those sections of the route, which have no adequate infrastructure for cyclists, project documentation is currently being intensively prepared and land plots for construction are being redeemed. At the moment, construction work is underway on the territory of the municipalities of Muta and Ruše.
