The Europa Cantat International Choir Festival to Take Place in Ljubljana

Each time, it involves from 3 to 4 thousand performers from around the world. In parallel, a number of choral art workshops with the participation of well-known teachers are conducted, as well as more than 100 concerts and performances, most of which take place in the open air. In the capital of Slovenia, the largest choral festival will be held in 2021. The Government has already allocated funds for the project.

The Europa Cantat Festival is held once in 3 years in one of the European cities under the patronage of the European Choral Association. Ljubljana was nominated by the Public Fund for Culture of the Republic of Slovenia (JSKD), a long-standing member of the European Choral Association.

This Fund will work to implement the project in cooperation with the Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL).

In 2018, the Government of Slovenia has allocated 15,800 euros for the organisation of the festival. In 2019, it is planned to allocate 120 thousand euros, in 2020—another 145,500 euros, and in the festival year—688,700 euros. Part of the funds will also be provided by the Municipality of Ljubljana.
