The Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica Is Awarded the Title of Centre of Excellence

The Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica was awarded the title of the Centre of Excellence – the Strategic Observatory of Europe 2030 as part of the Jean Monnet Programme. This title is awarded to higher education institutions that provide knowledge and competencies that are key to the study of strategic processes in the EU.

It should be noted that for over 30 years of the Jean Monnet programme existence, the Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica has become the fourth Slovenian institution awarded the title of the Centre of Excellence.

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence will be involved in the development and implementation of the new EU development strategy. Firstly, a scientific infrastructure will be created on the basis of the Centre for the collection, analysis and dissemination of information on strategic processes taking place in the European Union. Secondly, the Centre of Excellence will act as a platform for professional debates on the strategic development of the European Union with the participation of various public groups. These events will further improve the quality of teaching in areas related to European studies.
