The Head of Strategic Projects of Gorenje Group Gives a Lecture for Third-Year Students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana

On Tuesday, 15 May 2018, third-year students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana visited a lecture by Master Iztok Pustatičnik, the Head of Strategic Projects of the Gorenje Group, within the Costs Accounting subject (teacher – Master Aleksander Igličar). During the lecture on Calculation of Products Cost Price within the Gorenje Group, he presented in detail the individual positions for determining the cost price of products and their accounting and auditing.

In the introductory part of the lecture, Master Iztok Pustatičnik presented to the audience an overview of the Gorenje Group activities in 2017 and the business plan until 2020. Within the framework of the lecture, Master Iztok Pustatičnik also provided basic information on the monitoring of Gorenje’s activities by potential strategic partners, which took place from March to early May 2018.

In recent years, Gorenje, in accordance with its reformed strategy, has focused on a system for monitoring costs and profitability of individual brands, product groups and codes of products sold. As the lecturer emphasized, the target prime cost of products is a key element for calculating the volume of production, which is set at the beginning of the fiscal year and, as a rule, does not change during the year. The target prime cost is used to calculate the volume of production, and periodic reports indicate deviations from the target prices. Depending on the complexity of the programme, the Gorenje Group determines the target prime cost for more than 5,000 final products.

The Gorenje Group produces household appliances, which are sold all over the world. This is one of the largest Slovenian companies producing products in four major production complexes in Slovenia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
