The National Gallery Celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 2018
In 2018, the National Gallery will celebrate its 100th birthday. The central exhibition, which opens on 20 June, will be dedicated to the work of the most famous Slovenian artist Ivana Kobilca (1861–1926).
Her works always attract a large number of visitors to museums and galleries. The last major thematic exhibition dedicated to the artist’s work was held in the National Gallery in 1979.
Since then, a lot of new facts have been revealed—the new scientific data, a few found lesser-known works of the artist, as well as the found paintings, which were considered lost after the posthumous exhibition in 1928.
