The Ranking of the Best Slovenian Restaurants According to a Prestigious Austrian Edition

The prestigious Austrian wine-culinary edition Falstaff has published a list of the most popular Slovenian restaurants among Austrian tourists. It is worth noting that Austrians visit Slovenia, especially its north-eastern regions, more often than other foreign tourists.

The best restaurant (94 points out of 100 possible) is Hiša Franko, which ranks 38th among the world’s 50 best restaurants. Its chef Ana Roš remains undefeated.

The second place (93 points out of 100) belongs to the Gostilna pri Loizetu restaurant (the chef – Tomaž Kavčič).

The third place (92 points out of 100) is shared by Hiša Denk (settlement of Kungoš, Styria; the chef – David Vračko) and the Ljubljana TaBar restaurant, which ranks highest among restaurants in the Slovenian capital.

The top twenty also includes Hiša Torkla (settlement of Korte), Mak (Maribor), Danilo (Škofja Loka), Strelec (Ljubljana), Klinec Medana (settlement of Dobrova) and Majerija (Vipava), Okus (Koper), Pavus (Laško), Grič (settlement of Horjul), Rožmarin (Maribor), JB (Ljubljana), Dam (Nova Gorica), Gostilna Sonja (Isola), Rajh (Murska Sobota), Bužinel (settlement of Dobrova), and Vila Podvin (Radovljica).
