The Recorded Unemployment Rate in Slovenia in March 2016 Decreased to 12%

According to STA with reference to the State Statistics Service, the recorded unemployment rate in March 2016 was 12%. This is 0.6% lower than in February 2016, and 0.8% lower than in March last year. The number of employed persons both on a monthly and annual levels increased by nearly 1%, which amounts to 809,200 people.

Ljubljana. The recorded unemployment rate among men on the monthly level decreased by 0.8% down to 11.1%, and among women — by 0.5% down to 13%.

The unemployment rate decreased in all statistical regions of the country. The biggest drop was in Pomurje — by 1.7% down to 18.5%.

110,226 unemployed persons were registered at the end of March this year, which is 5% less than in February this year and by 6.7% less than in March last year.

The number of employed persons in March this year amounted to 809,195 people, which is by 0.9% more than in February this year and by 0.8% more than in March last year.

The number of employed persons as compared to February increased by 1% up to 722,218 persons, which is 2% more than in March last year.

The number of self-employed persons under the figure of 86,977 persons on the monthly level increased by 0.1% and at the annual level decreased by 7.7%.

The number of actively employed persons on a monthly level mainly grew in the field of civil engineering — by almost 2,500 persons. More than 52,700 people are employed in the processing industry.
