The SladoLent Festival Presented the Flagmen of Slovenian Culinary
This year, as part of the SladoLent Culinary Festival, which will be held from 24 June to 2 July 2016, 27 best Slovenian masters will demonstrate their skills and dishes that will be accompanied by an excellent wine collection.
The Sixth SladoLent Festival 2016 will be held as part of the largest Maribor Festival of Street Food, during which all guests will have an opportunity of tasting more than 60 author’s culinary creations in the open air.
Among the recognized culinary masters, it is possible to distinguish such names as Ana Roš (Hiša Franko) with her famous Franko roast beef and Tolmin Fricka, Janez Bratovž (JB) with his marinated salmon grilled in Kataify with sweet potato puree, and Tomaž Kavčič (Gostilna pri Lojzetu) with his “gushtenco” — an autochthonous Vipava corn cooked in four ways.
The Wine Night Symphony will be presented with 24 wine varieties from the privileged Slovenian winemakers, 9 of which will personally present a sort of wine for each evening. Each day the guests will be offered a new variety of wine. Among them, such brands as Movia, Marjan Simčič, Radikon, Mlečnik, Ščurek, Marof, etc. can be distinguished.
Violeta and Uroš Mencinger (Nedelov kulinarični recenzent — the Sunday Culinary Reviewer) are the organizers of the Festival. This year, they will pay extra attention to the choice of music, so that every night could have its own unique musical history. The Cooking Show will begin daily at 7:00 PM and run until midnight. A single meal will cost EUR 3.5, and the wine of the evening — EUR 3.
