The Slovenes Win Gold at the Fire and Rescue Sport Championship in Switzerland

Young Slovenian firefighters from the PGD Zbilje Club won gold medals at the 22nd Youth Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport in Switzerland being ahead of 55 teams from more than 20 countries. This was announced by the Chairman of the PGD Zbilje Club Saša Ciglar in his interview with 24ur.com.

It took the Slovenes two years to prepare for the championship that ended on Saturday, 20 July 2019. The efforts taken led to a logical result – the girls completed all the tasks during the two stages of the championship without errors.

It should be noted that the age of the participants ranged from 12 to 16 years. The young Slovenes competed in two disciplines – fire relay and rescue deployment. Each team consisted of 10 participants, 1 person in reserve and 2 mentors.

The next championship will be held in 2021 in Celje.
