The Slovenian Paralympic Athlete Darko Đurić Becomes the European Champion in Swimming

The 29-year-old Darko Đurić from Radovlica became the European champion in freestyle swimming at a distance of 50 metres (category S4) among athletes with disabilities. His result is 40.40 seconds. The Slovenian athlete shared the first place with the Czech Arnošt Petračko.

In the nearest future, Darko Đurić will have two more starts. On Friday, 17 August 2018, the competition in freestyle swimming at a distance of 200 metres will be held, and on Sunday, 19 August 2018 – at a distance of 50 metres in butterfly stroke.

Darko Đurić is a regular participant of the Paralympic Games. The athlete has already won two medals at the last European Championships held in Portugal in 2016 at a distance of 100 metres freestyle (silver) and 200 metres freestyle (bronze). The current European Championship is held in Dublin (Ireland).
