The University of Ljubljana to Host an Open Lecture by a Professor from Japan

The Embassy of Japan and the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ljubljana University Electrical Engineering Faculty conduct an open lecture on Wednesday, 25 April 2018, at 1:00 pm about Scale-up of StartUp Businesses Based on Ecosystem Platform with Rule-making Strategies.

Professor Yoshiaki Ichikawa, a leading Japanese expert on advanced technologies and standardization, the chairman of the Smart Object Infrastructure ISO/TC 268/SC 1 Technical Subcommittee of the International Organization for Standardization and the Environmental Standardization of Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems IEC / TC 111 Technical Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission, the chief engineer and head of planning department in the research and development group of Hitachi as well as a professor of universities in Tama and Tokyo, will speak as a lecturer.

The lecture will begin with an analysis of over-the-top examples of companies, for which an exponential growth curve, the so-called hockey stick, is typical. Such a business model acts as an ecosystem or a multilateral platform. The speaker will present the mathematical model and simulation results, as well as the main factor, the so-called rule formulation, which are necessary for the success of such a business model. Then, Prof. Dr. Yoshiaki Ichikawa will consider examples of language rules and submit their own initiatives related to Sustainable Development Goals — the environmental issues, ageing of society, smart cities, drones and IoT, Bigdata and AI applications.

The lecture will be held in English. Free admission.
