On 18 October 2018, the Rector of the University of Maribor, Prof. Dr. Zdravko Kačič, and the Head of Steinbeis 2i GmbH, Dr. Jonathan Löffler, signed the final document on the integration of the University of Maribor in the network of Danube Transfer Centres within the Flagship project of the eighth priority (competitiveness) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.
The document was signed in Sofia during the Seventh Annual Forum dedicated to the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. Thus, the University of Maribor has joined the network of 10 centres that will jointly ensure the transfer of knowledge and technology in the Danube region. The knowledge and technology transfer centres project was launched in 2014. The leading partner of the University of Maribor is Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (Stuttgart, Germany).
In cooperation with the Enterprise Europe Network and the National Consortium for the Transfer of Knowledge and Technology (KTT), as well as other partners, the University of Maribor has numerous opportunities to support local businesses, primarily small and medium enterprises, as well as researchers wishing to bring their activities to the international level.
