The University of Maribor Participates in the Municipal Action “Go to Work Without a Car”

From 3 to 14 September 2018, the municipality of Maribor holds an action “Go to Work Without a Car.” It is aimed at promoting an alternative way of getting to work – on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. The action helps reduce the transport influence on the health of the municipality residents and the local environment. The action is held at the initiative of the municipality of Maribor together with non-governmental organizations.

Upon completion of the action, the municipality of Maribor, defending the principles of sustainable mobility, will reward its best participants. The awarding ceremony will take place on the Trg Svobode square on 21 September 2018 at 4:00 p.m.

It should be noted that the action “Go to Work Without a Car” is taking place during the European Mobility Week under the project “Together We Change Transport Preferences,” the events of which are organized under the auspices of the Climate Change Fund (in Slovene: Sklad za podnebne spremembe). Sponsors are the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Health. Financial support is provided through the initiative “Bon Appétit, Slovenia, for an Active Lifestyle and a Healthier Diet” (in Slovene: Dober tek Slovenija za več gibanja in bolj zdravo prehrano).
