The University of Nova Gorica Expands International Cooperation
The University of Nova Gorica continues to expand its international relations. In the 2016/2017 academic year, the international students make up over 40% of all students. The applicants from other countries have shown the greatest interest in the Faculty of Business and Technology of the University of Nova Gorica. In 2016, the natives of 10 countries represent the first-year foreign students of the Faculty. The majority of students are from Nepal. Last week, 27 foreign students came to Nova Gorica, 25 of whom will take the extramural Bachelor’s degree program “Economic Engineering” (Gospodarski inženiring—in Slovenian), and 2 students will study at the extramural Master’s degree program “Economic Engineering”.
The University Foundation Got a New Partner
In this academic year, the Foundation of the University of Nova Gorica has entered into a partnership agreement with the Erste Card, d. o. o. Company. The chairperson of the Nova Gorica University Foundation, Danilo Zavrtanik, and the director of Erste Card, d. o. o., Mladen Mirko Tepuš, signed the cooperation agreement.
According to the agreement, both parties will work together to implement the partnership cards with deferred payment Diners Club – Fundacija Univerze v Novi Gorici. The ‘Diners Club – FUNG’ project is to provide a long-term and stable source of funding for the Nova Gorica University Foundation, as well as funding for individual structures and projects in accordance with the Foundation’s objectives. It is an innovative form of the permanent charity fundraising in a difficult financial period.
The Foundation of the University of Nova Gorica is the only such university foundation in Slovenia. It is designed to support research and educational activities of the University of Nova Gorica.
