The University of Nova Gorica Holds the Conference on Transformation of Learning Process in the Digital Age

On Thursday, 23 May 2019, the National Conference on Transformation of Learning Process in the Digital Age was held at the University of Nova Gorica. The event was held under the auspices of the Rectors’ Conference, which unites four Slovenian universities – the University of Nova Gorica (Chairman), the University of Maribor, the University of Ljubljana, and the University of Primorska.

At the opening of the conference, the Chairman of the Rectors’ Conference and the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica Prof. Dr Danilo Zavrtanik, the Secretary-General of the Student Organisation of Slovenia Aleksandar Spremo, and a representative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports Duša Marjetič addressed the audience.

During the event, more than 100 participants listened to a lecture on the transformation of the educational process delivered by Dr Dominic Orr, a leading expert at the Research Institute for Economics of Education (FIBS) in Berlin. In the afternoon, seminars were held on the development and use of information and communication technology tools in learning and teaching activities, problems of student motivation in the digital university environment, as well as issues of open learning resources and access to knowledge through innovative technologies.
