The University of Primorska Compares Study with the Main Highway
On 2 October, the University of Primorska held a ceremony of welcoming freshmen at the Titov Square in Koper. The Rector of the university Prof. Dr. Dragan Marušič was the first to address the students with a keynote speech. The Mayor Boris Popovič stressed that the University of Primoska had the same big ambitions as the city of Koper, in which it is located.
The President of the Student Council recalled that a new student law had recently been adopted, which gives an opportunity of using bons (student privileges) until 9:00 p. m. Describing the advantages of studying at the faculties, the deans advised freshmen to treat their studies not as a side track, but as the main highway that could lead them to a successful career.
The representatives of the Career Centre of the University of Primorska, a recruiting agency and the Mservis student service also addressed the students.
After the official part of the event, the first-year students received brand t-shirts of the university and had a tasty dinner. The Atrij Pizzeria and the Agraria Koper agricultural cooperative took care of breakfast and lunch.
