There Are Two Craft Breweries with Russian Capital in Slovenia

The first is the Pivovarna Hopster brewery, which is located in Ljubljana (in the former industrial premises). Beer is brewed in a special 500-litre boiler and fermented in four containers.

Its owner and chief brewer Alexander Tkachenko moved from Russia to Slovenia more than 2.5 years ago. Alexander, the former owner of a small IT company in Russia, learned brewing as a home brewer. After a thorough meditation, he decided to turn his hobby into a job. Tkachenko chose Slovenia for life and business because, according to his estimations, the brewing market in Slovenia was healthy and growing.

In their interview with, the owners of the second mini-brewery with Russian capital, Hopsbrew, say that Slovenia is viewed as a safe country with great business opportunities.

Currently, the brand identity of the brewery is the American pale ale, which visitors rated as natural, soft and pleasant beer. The second hit of this brewery is seasonal Bavarian wheat beer (Mali Grad).
