Unified Monthly Subsidized Travel Pass for Ljubljana Public Transport Is Put on Sale for Students and Schoolchildren

On 21 August 2018, the Ljubljana bus station started selling single monthly subsidized travel passes for public transport for the 2018/2019 academic year for students and schoolchildren.

The unified travel pass for Ljubljana public transport can be issued in several ways. Anyone who buys a travel pass for the first time should fill out an application on the eUprava website using an electronic signature. Then, in the Moja eUprava section, a confirmation and approval of the application should be received. Having printed out the application or its number, a student can receive a travel pass at the Ljubljana bus station paying a certain amount for it.

If a student or a pupil is already using a travel pass, they will have to fill out an application for renewal on the eUprava website using an electronic signature. In the Moja eUprava section, they will receive confirmation and approval of the application and its code, through which they will be able to purchase a travel pass on the Internet from an operator of subsidized transportation, who provides a possibility of online payments. Those who are already using the electronic card will be able to automatically download the travel pass after the first use of the IJPP mobile terminal, while those who purchase the travel pass for the first time will need to personally receive it at one of the carriers’ sales outlets.

In both cases, students and schoolchildren can print out the application form and fill it in manually. Link to the application is available at ap-ljubljana.si. The link for filing an electronic application is also available on the website of the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, as well as at the carriers’ sales outlets. At the bus station, several cash desks will operate. The purchase can be made daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The cost of a monthly travel pass for students and schoolchildren depends on the distance: a ticket for travel up to 60 kilometres costs 25 EUR, from 60 to 90 kilometres – 35 EUR, for more than 90 kilometres – 55 EUR. Those who need to make 10 trips per month from the place of residence to the place of study can buy a 10-trips travel pass for 20 EUR.

Persons entitled to a subsidized travel pass can also purchase a standard travel pass for a certain surcharge. In Ljubljana, the surcharge is 10 EUR, in Maribor – 5 EUR, in Jesenice – 15 EUR.
