University of Maribor Is Among the Top-300 Best Universities in Europe
Based on the results of the “Best Universities in Europe 2017” ranking published by the Times Higher Education, the University of Maribor has retained the first place among Slovenian universities and ranked among the Top-300 in Europe.
The ranking assesses the quality of universities performance in teaching, research, citation index, transfer of knowledge to the economy (income from cooperation with industrial enterprises) and involvement in international projects and programmes. In total, the ranking covered more than 1,000 educational institutions. The University of Maribor has recently been included into 4% of the world’s best universities according to all international studies, and for the past two years has been the best university in Slovenia according to the Times ranking.
Since 2004, the Times Higher Education has been publishing a study on the world’s best universities based on the Times’ own data, which is an international survey on the reputation of specific universities and data from the Elsevier Scopus database. The Times assessment takes into account five key criteria: teaching, research, impact of published works on the world science and education, income from cooperation with industrial enterprises, and international cooperation.
