Velenje Educational Centre – Partner of the SLEVET International Project
The Velenje Education Centre has become one of the partners of the SLEVET international project (Student-driven Leadership Skills Development Program in VET Schools). The project is being implemented as part of the Erasmus+, KA2 Programme: Partnerships of Educational Institutions. The organiser is the Panevezys Regional Centre for Professional Education, Lithuania. Partner organisations are National School of Management (Sofia, Bulgaria), Kuldiga Tourism School (Latvia), National School of Finance (Sofia, Bulgaria), Velenje Education Centre (Slovenia), Bridging to the Future (Birmingham, UK). The project manager is Miran Papež. The project implementation period lasts until 31 August 2020.
The project implements a special programme for youth (Student-driven Leadership Skills Development Program) with the aim of developing managerial and entrepreneurial skills in students of secondary vocational schools. In the 2019/2020 academic year, undergraduate students will conduct 14 workshops for their junior colleagues on developing capacity in communication, teamwork, problem solving skills, planning and organisation skills, an active approach and initiative, and stress management. In addition, seminar participants will improve their knowledge of Slovenian, English and mathematics. The seminars will show how to develop key competencies and leadership skills through practical tasks in everyday life, while working for the benefit of schools and local communities.
