Volunteers and Mountain Climbers Take Part in Cleaning the Triglav Foothills Within the Framework of the Clean Our Mountains National Action

On Tuesday, 28 August 2018, as part of the Clean Our Mountains national action, which has been held for the ninth year in a row, volunteers and professional mountaineers took part in the cleaning of the Triglav Lodge at Kredarica (the Triglav foothills) and the territory of the Triglav Glacier on the whole.

An extraordinary action takes place at an altitude of 2,500 metres above sea level. Its goal is to promote responsible attitude of visitors to the mountainous area and rational utilization of garbage. Over the past 8 years, the action participants have taken nearly 30 tons of waste to the valley. In previous years, they also placed garbage bags along the hiking trail to the top of the mountain.

The idea of the action sounded as “In addition to the wonderful impressions, it is worth taking your garbage to the valley too!”
