Winners of the France Prešeren Prestige Award Are Announced

Katarina Pungračič, a third year student of the Agriculture and Environment programme from the Faculty of Agriculture and Biosystematics of the University of Maribor became the new Wine Queen of Slovenia.

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, Master Dejan Židan, and the Chairman of the Pomurskisejem, Janez Erjavec, held the solemn ceremony of coronation.

The student, who became the 22nd wine queen of the country, comes from a family of farmers engaged in viticulture, winemaking and tourism. She is a certified sommelier (amateur) and actively participates in the work of the Halose Association of Farmers and Gardeners. In 2018, the new wine queen will represent the Slovenian wine regions, Slovenian wines, viticulture, tourism and cultural heritage in numerous events in Slovenia and abroad.
