The University Programmers Marathon is a nationwide student programming competition with an emphasis on knowledge of data structures and algorithms. In the final round, which took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics on Saturday, 13 October 2018, the champion of the University of Maribor was announced.
The first and the second places were taken by student teams of the Computer Science and Information Technology study programme. The team consisting of Vid Keršič, Niko Uremović and Mitja Žalik took the first place. The second place was awarded to the team consisting of Aljaž Jeromel, Gal Meznarič and Jan Mikolič. At the end of November, both teams will take part in the regional CERC 2018 tournament in Prague, where teams from Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia will compete.
The best teams will be eligible to compete in the international final tournament, which will be held in Porto in April 2019.
