Winners of the University Programming Marathon 2017 Are Announced in Koper

The final stage of the National Universiade for Programmers (Slovene: Univerzitetni programerski maraton 2017) was held at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Science and Information Technology of the University of Primorska on 14 October. The student contest, consisting of 3 preliminary stages and the final tournament, focuses on the knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

The Universiade began in April in 3 universities of Slovenia. In 2017, 60 teams (168 contestants) attended it. The 29 participating teams included students from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the University of Ljubljana (FMF UL).

In the final tournament, participants had 5 hours to solve 9 tasks. The Pitoni team (University of Ljubljana) took the first place. The second place belongs to the Final Solution team (University of Ljubljana), and the third place—to another team from Ljubljana, Muzik.si.

The programmers contest was founded in 1998 at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the University of Ljubljana (FMF UL). Same as before, students of this faculty performed successfully.
