Work for Students

Since the adoption of new legislation, which came into force last February, a number of job offers on the student labour market decreased by 13%.

July and August are the hot months for schoolchildren and students who want to earn some money performing seasonal jobs offered by the Employment Service. Among the temporary job types, the work in shops (merchandisers, packers), in manufacture and sales is dominating. In tourist regions, employers hire swimming instructors and animators. The service workers are in great demand for all year round.

According to the Employment Service, girls usually tend to work in sales, administration and advertising. Boys are interested in computer-related jobs or choose physically demanding jobs, for which they earn 8 euros per hour, which are considered the most highly paid labour market proposals.
