Works by Giuseppe Tartini to Be Performed at the Radovljica Festival
The Radovljica Festival of classical music will be held for the 35th time. Within two and a half weeks from 5 August to 22 August, ten international concerts will be held as part of this festival in Radovljica and Velesovo.
The first concert called Claudio Monteverdi – Lacrime d’amante is dedicated to the madrigals written by Claudio Monteverdi (on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the composer’s birth). It will be held on 5 August at 8:00 p.m. in the Radovljica Castle.
In the Sunday part of the programme, guests will hear the works of the Italian violinist of the 18th century Giuseppe Tartini and his contemporaries. They will be performed by David Plantier (violin) and Annabelle Lewis (cello).
The festival will also feature a new musical version of the Old Icelandic saga Edda, “The Beautiful Miller’s Maid” by Franz Schubert, the first modern versions of Renaissance polyphony, French music of the twentieth century (for flute, harp and string bow instruments).
