Young Slovenian Mathematicians Win Three Medals at the International Olympiad in Great Britain

On 22 July 2019, the 60th International Mathematical Olympiad ended in Bath (Great Britain). Six Slovenian schoolchildren took part in the Olympiad.

Having won 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and 3 diplomas, they took the 44th place in the overall team standings. This was reported by the Society of Mathematicians, Physicists and Astronomers of Slovenia.

Silver medals were awarded to Marko Čmrlec (Bežigrad Gymnasium) and Luka Horjak (First Celje Gymnasium). The bronze medal was taken by Lovro Drofenik (First Celje Gymnasium). Besides, the Olympiad diplomas were awarded to Tea Jeličić (Conservatory of Music and Ballet, Ljubljana), Jaka Vrhovnik (First Celje Gymnasium), and Tevž Lotrič (Kranj Gymnasium).
